Atlanta, GA, October 17–18, 2025 — Award-winning filmmaker and director Michele Adams is taking independent artistry to the next level with the inaugural Purple Awards, a two-night celebration honoring creative excellence across the entertainment industry.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Adams has built a dynamic career spotlighting underrepresented voices. From her poetry collection Private Tears to acclaimed film appearances in Life Is Not a Fairytale: The Fantasia Barrino Story and Déjà Vu, and founding OE Magazine, Adams has consistently amplified diverse perspectives. Her films have earned critical acclaim, including Abysmal Ties, which won the Audience Choice Award at the San Diego Black Film Festival, and Connect With Me, cementing her reputation as a storyteller with heart and vision.
